Suez Office for External Relations and International Cooperation

The University Office for External Relations and International Cooperation is responsible for the all external relations of the University (Suez Office for External Affairs - SOEA). The President of the University issued a decree No. (548) dated 14/10/2018 to establish the Office of Foreign Relations and International Cooperation to be responsible for the external affairs of Suez University (Suez Office for External Affairs - SOEA). The university Office for External Affairs is administratively belonging to the President Office. It is the sole official channel for any external affairs including collaborations with “Externals” for the establishment of joint relations between the University and any internal external or international bodies which mainly means the of the University.

The University Office for External Affairs (SOEA) seeks to establish relationships and partnerships with a positive return on the University, which will contribute significantly to the development of relations between Arab / African and international universities through marketing the University and highlighting its distinct and unique capabilities which achieves the strategy of expanding international relations between the university and the outside community, both local (Universities, research centers and any other relevant bodies) or international (Arab, African and other countries).

In the interest of HE Prof. Al-Sayed El-Sharkawy - President of Suez University on the expansion of the university abroad, he was given directions to conclude several agreements at the regional and international levels, with the expansion of internal partnerships with universities, institutes and research centers as well as the private sector to achieve the maximum utilization of the university in all colleges and programs and the Swiss society and Sinai and the axis of the channel Achieving the objectives of the National Strategy 2030, which will have a significant impact on the whole country - Egypt

Suez University President

Suez University is a beacon of education and scientific research in Egypt. The university seeks to achieve the highest quality of education both on the level of the higher education and the scientific research. Believing that education and ethical morals play a pivotal role in developing the nations, particularly the youth, the university and its scientists attempt to achieve this aim by linking the education and scientific research to the community needs in this crucial stage in the history of Egypt; and  this is in the  light of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi’s discerning vision which places the issue of developing education, scientific research and innovation as a fundamental means for nation’s development and progress.

SU  Goals

  • Prepare human cadres specialized in the field of science and modern knowledge, focusing on applied fields of science (e.g., new and renewable energy) in the Mediterranean and the Red Sea (extending to the Arabian Gulf across Bab al-Mandab).
  • Qualify students scientifically and practically to work in various fields awarding B.A. and B.Sc. degrees in these areas.
  • Conduct basic and applied research related to the previous areas and grant MA and PhD degrees.
  • Serve the environment and community and open gates for training areas to set up different levels of scientific work that can serve the development of the Suez Canal Zone.
  • Cooperate with scientific institutions, national bodies and Arab and international universities (especially in the Mediterranean Basin) and establish exchange programs to serve students and professors.

History of Suez University

Suez University (SU) was established as a government university following the issuance of the Presidential Decree No. (193) for the year 2012 on 22/8/2012. SU had been a branch of Suez Canal University since 2006. It started with six faculties and as of the academic year 2016/2017, it has twelve faculties, with a total number of students of 12354.

 The University faculties are:

  1. Faculty of Petroleum and Mining Engineering: which was established as a High institute of Petroleum and Mining in 1961.
  2. Faculty of Education (established in 1981)
  3. Faculty of Industrial Education (established in 1995)
  4. Faculty of Commerce (established in 2006)
  5. Faculty of Science (established in 2007).
  6. Faculty of Fish Resources (established in 2009).
  7. Faculty of Arts (established in 2014).
  8. Faculty of Economics and Political Sciences (established in 2015).
  9. Faculty of Computer and Information Science (established in 2016).
  10. Faculty of Media and Mass Communication (established in 2017).
  11. Faculty of Medicine (started in 2018).
  12. Faculty of Engineering (started in 2018).

There is an ongoing work to establish the Technical Institute of Nursing.

The University plans to establish new faculties in future, among which is the center for an integrated medical complex, which includes Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Physical Therapy and Faculty of Nursing, as well as the University hospital. As part of its national commitment and responsibility to reconstruct Sinai, SU has opened classes for the College of Education in Tur Sinai as a nucleus of new colleges that will pave the way to the establishment of SU branch in Tur City, South Sinai.

Suez University is a pioneering educational scientific institution among the government and private Egyptian universities. It aims to:

  • provide a learning environment that can cater for both teaching and learning potentials,
  • keep abreast of technological developments,
  • face the challenges that encounter both the graduate and scientific research for the sake of Egyptian society development,
  • be a part of the world universities' endeavors of meeting and satisfying human needs,
  • have a stake in the construction of a higher civilization of human development.

Suez University is an academic institution that has a pivotal target to develop thought and enhance both individual and community customs and behavior, intellectually and cognitively.

The University plays a leading role in providing educational opportunities for the people of the Gulf of Suez, Suez Canal, South Sinai and the Red Sea coastal area. It also bears full responsibility to lead the cultural, scientific and development aspects in the areas of education, technology and scientific discoveries.

In addition, the University provides the atmosphere for intellectual and cultural progress in all fields to promote scientific thought.

To achieve this mission, SU mobilizes its human and physical resources to excel and advance. In addition, the SU is working hard to prepare distinguished graduates who possess professional and intellectual skills, as well as aspire for creativity and are able to transfer knowledge and its technological applications through creative and scientific research.
