. Suez University Organizing Symposium entitled "the Egyptian Economy between Current Challenges and Future Prospects"

 Based on the University enlightening role, a symposium entitled "the Egyptian Economy: Current Challenges and Future Prospects” was held today under the auspices of prof. Al Sayed Al-Sharkawi, the University President. A speech was given by prof. Ashraf Al-Arabi, the former minister of planning and administrative reform addressed to the university Vice-Presidents, the faculty deans and university students at the University conference hall.

The event opened with the Egyptian national anthem, followed by Al-Sharkawi's word welcoming prof. .Al-Arabi and other attendees, expressing his pleasure for hosting such a great event that can enlighten students’ minds and raise their awareness of the different challenges that face Egypt at all levels.

During the meeting, Al-Arabi pointed out the challenges that face Egypt at the economic level and the evolution of the concept of development with reference to the sustainable development adopted by the world including Egypt. He focused on the ability to transform this concept into national goals that meet the expectations of the Egyptian people. Al-Arabi assured the importance of doubling the efforts and strengthening the role of the private sector in cooperation with the public one to attract the investors and hence to keep the rate of the economic growth and provide youth with job opportunities.

Al-Arabi also emphasized that without the significant increase in development rates and the packages of the economic reforms adopted by the Egyptian State, and supported by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Egypt would not be able to handle the current economic challenges as well as the future prosperous plans and all the positive consequences of this reform on the different sectors of education and health. He also emphasized the need to embrace the idea of sustainability and never to stop at a specific stage, but to keep on the economic reform at the various sectors. He assured that the reform steps taken by the Egyptian State and its institutions were the most difficult though peacefully and successfully performed. Concerning the future, these reforms will be performed in a better without affecting the common citizens.  

The meeting was concluded by an open debate with the attendees to answer their queries. Finally, Al-sharkawy hailed Al- Arabi for his efforts offering him the University memorial medal.

University President meets the President of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education “NAQAAE”

Professor Al Sayed Al-Sharkawi, Suez University president, met at his office today Professor Yuhansin Eid, NAQAAE Chairman. The visit was perceived as part of the University’s keenness on developing the educational process and keeping up with the latest updates according to Quality criteria.

In the meeting attended by the University’s Vice Presidents, Faculty Deans, and University’s Quality Unit’s directors, El Sharkawi welcomed the University’s guests, stressing the necessity to develop a clear roadmap for each faculty as a prelude to get full Accreditation and meet Quality requirements.

As for Professor Yuhansin Eid, she gave a speech that clarified various Quality concepts in the educational process and how to implement them, and Accreditation requirements. She listened to faculties' deans and faculty quality units’ admins’ inquiries about the concept of Quality and ways of implementing it.

AOI Contest for Engineering Students at Egyptian Universities

Within the framework of responsible and active cooperation among different Egyptian ministries and institutions towards our country, establishment of intellectual communication with university students, and fostering a sense of national belonging, Suez University announces the launch of contest organized by AOI targeting Engineering students' graduation projects of the academic year 2019/2020 covering the following fields:

  • Seawater desalination field - Sewage and industrial wastewater treatment
  • New and renewable energy field
  • AI field - Internet of objects
  • Electronic control systems and their applications
  • design and manufacturing – Milling Machine – CNC 3D Printers

First: for the Suggested Research Projects:

The examining panel of the Institution is to receive a CD including:

  • A comprehensive summary of the research project (contents and conclusions)
  • A video clip of 5 minute maximum including one of the research team members making a comprehensive demonstration on the model made

Second: Main Prizes Values:

  • 1st place Prize\ a hundred thousand Egyptian Pounds only
  • 2nd place Prize\ a seventy-five thousand Egyptian Pounds only
  • 3rd place Prize\ a fifty thousand Egyptian Pounds only
  • Promotion Prize\ 3 prizes of twenty-five thousand Pounds to the top research in each field.

Al Azhar International Research Contest

Suez University announces launching of Al Azhar International Research Contest organized by Council of Senior Scholars at sheikhdom of Al-Azhar.

Contest fields include:: Aqidah, Contemporary Thought, Fundamentals of Islamic Fiqh, Quran, sciences of exgesis, Modernism, Scripture and Hadith Tafsir and sciences, Skeptical Movements against Sunnah: suspicions and origins, Arabic Language and its Literature, Renovation in Literary Heritage and Criticism.
